- 2011-09-10 13:44:00i was working with a client last week and again realised how important effective induction is for new employees. Our client when i met with them happened to mention that a new key person was starting with them in 2 weeks time. I asked if they had planned the induction programme and it was clear from the way they looked at me that thye had not planned further than the first hour which was to take him round the offices and take his bank details. We then decided to sit and plan the induction programme. it took us about 3 hours but it was time well invested. We listed what we need to cover with this person, then assigned accountabiltiy to different people within the orgasnisation who will be covering the relevant points. We agreed that one of the Directors will be accountable for the whole induction programme The induction programme is designed to take 7 days spread over a 10 day period this gives the new recruit some time on his own Why do organisations forget induction??
